Beverly Workman, a woman of warmth, wit, and wonderful spirit, passed away on June 6, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on October 2, 1936, to Eileen and Philip Tocco in Wyandotte, Michigan. Beverly grew into the kind of person who made every room brighter and every gathering more memorable. She was, in the truest sense, spunky, sweet, and in her later years, delightfully spicy.
Beverly dedicated much of her professional life to service, working for many years as a secretary at the Crippled Children’s Foundation. It was a role that suited her perfectly, as she possessed a natural gift for making people feel seen, heard, and welcomed. That spirit of inclusion never left her. Whether it was a neighbor, a new acquaintance, or a familiar face, Beverly always had an extra seat at her table. No one was ever a stranger for long in her presence.
One of Beverly’s favorite things was a good game night. She loved to play cards and could often be found hosting or participating in lively evenings with friends and fellow residents at her apartment complex. She brought the same enthusiasm and competitive spirit to every hand dealt, and every round played.
Beverly had a love of travel and adventure. If she was boarding a cruise ship or catching a flight to somewhere new, she embraced every opportunity to explore the world. She believed in experiencing life fully, and her travels were a testament to her curiosity and joie de vivre.
Beverly also cherished her independence, and nowhere was that more evident than behind the wheel. She loved to drive and did so on her own terms, only recently choosing to give it up; a decision that was entirely her own, made in her own time, as most things with Beverly were.
Above all else, Beverly treasured her family. She loved deeply and unconditionally, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were, without question, her greatest pride and joy. Her face lit up at the mention of their names, and she followed every milestone, every achievement, and every moment of their lives with a full and devoted heart. They were the center of her world, and the love she poured into them will carry forward in everything they do.
And then, of course, there was shopping. Beverly was a devoted and enthusiastic patron of QVC, and her shoe and clothing collection was nothing short of legendary. It is safe to say that her loyalty to QVC single-handedly kept the channel in business, probably. She had a wonderful eye for style and never missed an opportunity to add something fabulous to her collection.
Beverly Workman lived life with joy, generosity, and an unmatched sense of herself. She is deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, and the extra seat at her table will never quite be the same without her.
Beverly was predeceased by her beloved parents, Eileen and Philip Tocco; first husband, Tony Milazzo; brothers, Ron (Shar) Tocco, Philip Tocco, and Paul Tocco; and second husband, Robert Workman.
She is survived by her children, RoseAnn (Steve) Watz, Gasper (Sharon) Milazzo, Eileen (Tim) Clogg, and Philip (Michele) Milazzo; grandchildren, Nicole (Mike) Walter, Stacey (Joe) Baratta, Joel (Lauren) Patterson, Dana Patterson, Ashley (Gavin) Burstall, Jason Milazzo, Anthony (Breanna) Fachini, Shelby (Will) Socia, Tyler (Ryan) Sargent, Brian Clogg, the late Alex Clogg, Stephanie (Cody) Fitzgerald, Alyssa Milazzo, Gabrielle (Austin) Wade, Danielle Milazzo, and Emily Marron; as well as 19 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 2pm until 8pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home located at 20705 Mack Avenue Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. An instate period will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 9:30am followed by the funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church located at 21620 Greater Mack Avenue St. Clair Shores, MI 48080.
