Carl Anthony Cammarata, born on September 14, 1954 to Anthony and Dorothy Cammarata, lived a life full of laughter, love, and unmistakable spirit. A proud Eastside Detroiter, Carl grew up attending St. Peter the Apostle Grade School and later Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, forming friendships and memories that would last a lifetime.
Carl lived life entirely on his own terms—surrounded by the people he loved most. His family was his foundation, and his lifelong friends became an extension of that family. He had a deep love for rock and roll, Detroit sports, and sharing good food with good company. With a heart as big as his personality, Carl found joy in helping others and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Simply put, people loved being around him—and he loved being with them.
He was a natural storyteller, happiest when reminiscing over coffee, sharing laughter, and reliving the moments that made life special. Nothing brought him more joy than having his entire family together under one roof.
In his later years, Carl embraced his favorite role—Papa. He adored his grandchildren, Anthony (5), Isaiah (5), and Brady (2), who filled his days with energy, laughter, and love. The sound of little feet running through the house and the joyful chaos of family life became his greatest happiness. Wherever his grandchildren were, that’s exactly where he wanted to be.
Carl passed on April 2, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family and friends, just as he had lived. While his absence will be deeply felt, he would want to be remembered with a smile. In his honor, put on a Rolling Stones song, share a favorite story, and let laughter carry his memory forward.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 41 years, Pam; his son Matthew (Dina) and grandson Anthony; his daughter Katelyn (Aaron) and grandsons Isaiah and Brady; and his brother Samm (Skip). The family finds comfort in knowing Carl is reunited with his beloved parents, whom he carried in his heart always.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at AH Peters Funeral Home. Instate at 11AM and Prayer Service at Noon.
