

Catherine “Kaye” Buffa Valenti passed away on February 23, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born in Detroit on March 2, 1933; daughter of Antonio and Mary Buffa. She was married to Anthony “Tony” Valenti for 34 years until his passing in 1987. She never remarried. The couple raised 7 children together.
In addition to raising 7 children Kaye worked for the Department of the Navy and did clerical work for Wayne County. She also worked at a manufacturing rep company and a medical billing company. Kaye was a successful Tupperware consultant and manager. She enjoyed baking, cooking, cake decorating, candy making and made the best meatballs and chicken soup. Kaye enjoyed bowling, bingo, rummikube playing cards, knitting, crocheting and watching the Detroit Tigers. Of all of her interests and hobbies, her biggest love in life was spending time with her family and friends.
She was proud of her children Mark Valenti (Becky), Sheryl Hogan (Tom), Greg Valenti (Sue), Jeff Valenti (Margie), Laura Breitner (Ron), Anthony Valenti (Melanie Lisbon), and Karyn Naimo (Joe). She adored her grandchildren Andrew Valenti (Katie), Phil Valenti (Jessica), Clare Valenti (Kevin Carpenter), Daniel Hogan (Stephanie), Lauren Blue (Derek), Nancy Lindstrom, Mike Valenti (Katie), Joe Breitner, Sarah Breitner, Alexcia Acosta, Hannah Naimo, and Adam Naimo and the late Chuck Lindstrom. She loved her step-grandchildren Katie (Mike) Holdt and Elizabeth (Adam) Lachowicz. She is survived by her great-grandchildren Jack, Carter and Will Blue, Joey Valenti, Emma and Hudson Holdt, Cameron Lachowicz, and Maddox Meck. Kaye was predeceased by her siblings Bill (Dorothy) Oliveri, Eva (Tom) DeGregorio, Mary (Sam) Rizzo, Betty (Henry) Modzelewski, and Andrew Buffa.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27th from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. She will lie instate on Wednesday, February 28th at 10:00 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 am at St Margaret of Scotland Church, 21201 E 13 Mile Rd, St Clair Shores. She will be interred next to her beloved husband Tony at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp.
