I've lived next door to Chuck and Mary for 35 years. My first conversation was with Mary telling me everyone's Birthdates... then she said ...and CHUCKS is on "Sept. 29th"... and everyone was surprised that it was also MY birthday. (same year too)... so for 35 years Chuck and I never forgot to WISH each other a Happy Birthday.... It seems 'impossible' that Chuck is just not 'on the other side of the fence.' A GREAT neighbor.... and Family to have "NEXT DOOR" I will miss seeing Chuck in his yard nearly every time I looked over there ... or when the rains came.. 'pumping out' our yards together...or when Chuck would kindly swing over an electrical cord to share power from his generator...(every few months when our power would go out...and it always did) Then in the last few years Chuck shared a bunch of plants from his garden that are now growing in my yard. So, CHUCK when you look down here... know that your garden has expanded and I promise to lend a hand to keep the weeds out of yours! Mary, please know that you can knock on my door, talk over that fence or call me anytime. (really) Just for company or if you need help. I will be praying for you and your family to find some Peace and hope that your loss will grow a bit easier when you feel the love coming back to you...thru friends and relatives. Just wanted to say that my brother, Chuck, truly was one of the best men I have ever met. My mother, Madeline (living) and father, Charles Gay (deceased) helped mold him into the loving and caring man he was. With these traits instilled in him he went on to develop his own endearing personality that improved as the years went on. He was a terrific big brother and friend always giving his best to his sisters and brother and many others and I will truly miss him. After meeting many of you, I can value all that you gave to him and wish to thank you all for the wealth of love and support and true friendship that you shared with him these many years to make him the man he was.

Wow Chuck I was just thinking about you, then I received this sad news today. You've left a wonderful legacy in your family, friends and work family. You will be missed.

I have never been moved by a eulogy as I was when Jenny shared her memories of her dad. Not surprising though, as Chuck was unique. A genuine, good person, who was loved and respected by all. Just look at this guestbook, particularly his former co workers' contributions! Our world is shattered now, but his friends and family will survive and thrive. He wouldn't have it any other way. When challenges arise, I suggest we ask ourselves: "What would Chuck do?".

Chuck you were always about Peace, Love and Happiness. Everyone should live by your example. You have touched everyone's heart that knew you. We were all so blessed to have you be a part of our live's. As much as I will surely miss you, I know that as the same in life, You will watching over us and whispering in our ear's, Then welcome us with outstretched arm's when it is our turn. Dearest Mary, I just found out. This is Liz Logue. (My married name was Krieger). I always treasure the good times I had with you and Chuck. Great party times and great memories! At work, Chuck was a straight-up guy who always shared his vast knowledge willingly with his co-workers. As a union representative, he was my hero. Always standing up for the right thing when others didn't have the courage to do so. He kept the peace in ways most people didn't even know about. That is the way with men like Chuck. Work hard and work behind the scenes when necessary to make things happen. Chuck was the best and I know he will missed by all, but most of all by you, Dearest Mary. I cannot express how much I am going to miss Chuck. Although we didn't see each other, or talk often, he always made me laugh when we did. He was such a great brother-in-law and friend. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to attend the service, Mary. I love you all.

Chuckles-that was my nickname for CWG. In the early SARTS days he did his best to keep Les Calvin off our backs---thank you Chuck-but he was so much more as a friend and technician. Shared many laughs with Chuck and was so glad he would put up with my antics. I will carry his memory in my heart forever and as i wander these toll offices in Mid-Michigan I will say an AVe for him and remember the good times. POPS

I want to thank everyone who posted. I know Chuck heard your words and was very thankful. He always wondered how everyone he trained did in the future. It's so nice your wrote and appreciated his training. Thank you so much.

Chuck was a co-worker of mine in Detroit for many years and was always very congenial and never selfish in assisting those who had questions. On his last day, he left the office to a standing ovation from the entire floor.

Mary, I am so sorry for your lost. I enjoyed working with Chuck in the Sarts Group. And he talked of his family often(with great joy). May God's comfort and blessing be bestowed on each of you during this time of bereavement

Hi Mary. I met you a long time ago while you and Chuck were dining at the Red Lobster on Mack (before they closed it). Chuck and I worked together in Detroit for many years and I would have liked to pay my respects, but I just found out. He was funny with a wonderful sense of humor, but he was also serious and would answer work questions or union issues with knowledge and vigor. I considered him a true work friend and I'm glad he had a few years to enjoy retirement. Chuck, you and your family are in my prayers.

I don't think I've ever met a kinder person than Chuck. I will always remember Chuck sitting in his Chair at The Goose, with his shot of Jack, the little grin of his, and his hands resting on his belly, as he listened to the music. So many conversations about our kids, his grand-kids and just live in general. We are blessed to have folks like Chuck include us on their journey. Rest in peace Chuck. You will be always be loved.

I knew Chuck when I worked at Cass Toll and he was in the Detroit SSC commonly knowwn as SARTS. He taught me a lot. RIP Chuck.

Chuck was a mentor to so many of us throughout the years. He forgot more than most of us will ever know. Circuits weren't just fixed when he was done with them, they were fixed PERFECT. His guidance made all of us better technicians and people. Rest in peace Chuck, you will be missed.

Chuck was one of those guys people liked the second they met him. If they were fortunate enough to get to know Chuck, they ended up loving the guy. I've never met anyone who loved life, work, friends, and family as much as he did. And the stories......can't tell ya how times he turned around a crappy day by telling one of his stories that would get us all laughing. Rest in peace Bro.
