Dear Mia, this is Myra, Big Pete's current wife. I cried when I read your comments. I am so sorry that you did not know until five months ago. I would have welcomed you with open arms at the service. I know that Big Pete was so overwhelmed at the time and I don't think he knew how to reach you. But you were in my thoughts as I was told by the family how much you loved the boys and how good you were to them. I know that Charlie had good memories of you and he did miss you. Charlie lost his real mom in 2006 and her death affected him greatly. Charlie changed after that and then his tour of duty in Iraq must have also had a big impact on him, but he kept a lot inside of him even though we encouraged him to open up to us or someone. He just couldn't. His buddies from the National Guard loved him so. They told us of how they all looked up to him as a leader and a friend. Big Pete heard that you had a daughter and he was so happy for you. He always spoke highly of you and he told me that he knew you would be a great mother. Again, I am sorry that you were not notified. I really hope that it wasn't because Big Pete thought that I would be upset by your presence, because nothing could have been further from the truth.

Charlie, I sit here more than two years after your passing and am learning of it for the first time. My heart just shattered when I read your obituary. Charlie, my memories of you as a tender-hearted, spirited little boy who grew into a smiling, caring young man is forever imprinted in my mind. I have thought of you and Peter often over the years since your dad and I divorced and imagined that you continued to shine your brilliant light on everyone you met. I see that you were in the military and were an honorable soldier. I can only imagine the impressions that level of violence might have had on someone as humanistic as you, Charlie. As I promised you the last time I saw you and your brother, I always kept my phone number listed so that you could always find me if you wanted to. A small part of me kept hoping to get that call, but now it will surely never come. I still love you and Peter very much. Sweet Charlie. Please rest forever in peace. Love, Mia xoxo

My Dear Charlie Brown, , The day I received the phone call from Kt saying that she had found u was the day our world had stopped. Kt was devastated and I felt so bad that I could.t have been there just to hold her in my arms. I wish we could have met face to face Charlie u seemed like such h a warm and gentle Guy. The perfect one for my girls. The day u introduced urself to me over the phone and telling me how much u loved Kt and Kaley. I knew my girls were safe and in warm lovin hands.You made Kt And Kaley the happiest girls ever. U showed them the true meaning of love and happiness and I thank u for that. I was so happy and proud to call u my future son in law and cudnt wait for the day u and Kt became man and wife. I wish u would have talked to someone about ur troubles son I'm sure we could have made it better for u somehow son. The girls truly miss u. And there isn't a day that does.t go by that they don't think of u. At times in the middle of the night Kaley wakes up crying for her Daddy Charlie. My deepest condolences go out to your family. I did not know Charlie, but I know his Father. Everything that I have read about Charlie makes me feel that he was an outstanding and caring person. Charlie, I married your Dad 13 years ago, and knew you two years prior to that. You lived with us all that time, so technically I was your "step" mom, I loved you as my own. Had I known that Easter Sunday was going to be the last time I would see you, I would have held you and never let you go. I am so sorry. I thought we had more time. I just wish you realized how much you were loved by everyone. I am going to love and miss you every single day for the rest of my life. I hope you have found the peace that you just could not find here on this earth. You were a great soldier, I just wish you could have won the battle in your soul. RIP my dear boy

Charlie, The moment I found out that you were overseas I started talking to you again. I knew what it was like being there so I made sure I was there for you. Nothing better then getting fart machines, boob lollipops, and all that funny stuff :) You were so happy that I sent you all that funny stuff. We grew close and talked a lot and you told me everything, and I told you everything. I tried helping you as much as possbile when you were overseas to ease the stress and I know I was a big part of your getting through it. You respected me and my daughter so much that you gave me the space I needed to have personal healings and you stood by us as a great friend. You were always at the top of my call list when great and bad things would happen. I am going to miss that a lot :( Valentina adores you for supporting her in all her Rock Star sports and actually being the only man that read to her before bedtime. We will never forget you EVER.
