I know I am 11 years late but I just learned about Mr Wade's passing.  

Mr Wade was undoubtedly one of the most influential teachers I had in school.   Whether it was the road atlas city hunting game or the World Almanac elimination game he made learning fun but without compromising quality.  

Looking back I can see that he and his wife (my teacher at Webb Junior High) were on fire!  His idealistic teaching methods have stayed fresh in my mind since I left the 5th grade in 1978. 

I know he must have been a good man on a personal level.  It would have been great to learn about him and his inspirations.  

Thank G-d for people like him!

We were so shocked and surprised to hear of Charlie's passing, and tried several times to e mail.I also tried texting Debbie on her cell. I am so sorry this has taken awhile to reach you.Our prayers and thoughts have been ever with all of you who love Charlie and mourn him.I have such fond memories of times together since we were young children.He was totally devoted to family and he was a happy man,which showed through in his humor and actions. we join our hearts with yours in honoring Charlie.We Love you all and continue to hold you in our prayers. Mrs. Wade I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Wade was a wonderful person and a GREAT teacher and what an impact he has made in my life, some of my fondest memories are from being in his 5th grade class. As many others have done, I could go on and on about all the memories I have. I hope he knew how special he was and what he meant to all of us. My deepest condolences to you and your family in this sad time. He will forever live on in our memories and hearts.

Mrs Wade and Chris, I just wanted to share a few memories and tell you how special Mr. Wade was to all of us who were so lucky to have him as a teacher. When I heard about this, the first thing I thought of was how competitive he was when we played floor hockey. :) Then, I thought of camp, safeties, going to the Tigers game, walking to DQ and Putt-Putt, hatching baby chicks, and sex ed. Finally, I remember 2 years in history thanks to him. He told us if we only remembered one thing, it was that Jamestown was settled in 1607. For some reason, he was adamant that we knew that happened before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620! So, as you can see, 27 years later, I still have that ingrained in my brain. What a year in our lives! So much growing and so many memories all made in 9 short months. He was a great teacher and caring man. My deepest condolences to you and your whole family. I will never forget how important he was to me.

Charlie was my brother's best friend and part of our family. Loved his smile and laughter. I was saddened to hear of his death and want to send strength, support and love to Debbie and extended family. Charlie will be missed, and held in the hearts of those who loved him.

rest in peace mr.wade. You will be missed but never forgotten. You were not only my favorite teacher ever you were the second male figure in my life after my dad. You have and will forever have a special place in my heart!!! I will see you again in heaven !!!!

Aunt Debbie, My thought and prayers are with you as you lay Uncle Charlie to rest. I never saw him when he didn't have that smile on his face. I never saw him when he didn't have you by his side. You two were such a beautiful family. It was his time, for reasons we don't know why. Some day you will meet again and that day will be forever. Love to you both Always.

Mrs.Wade... Thank you for sharing your husband with all of us, he was a good man and left a great impression on us all. Everyone remembers him with great admiration! He will not be forgotten...when my kids one day tell me of great teachers they have, I will tell them of Mr. Wade :) Mr.Wade ...you were one of the first male figures in many of our lives..and helped lay a foundation of how we should act as Men. You had a great gift of teaching..and I only hope my children run into teachers like you!!

Never personally had Mr. Wade as a teacher, but still loved him dearly. He was so much a part of Edison. Loved his wit, humor,( he was a riot at 5th grade camp.) Was so glad to have known him,and got to work in the same building for the 4 years that I was a teacher's aide at Edison. He will truly be missed. Prayers to you and your family.

R.I.P Mr. Wade...you were a great man and a very special teacher at Edison Elementary, I have only fond memories of you and my days at Edison! You will be greatly missed sir! My heart goes out to his family, friends and all of his students, because this is a huge loss for everyone who knew this wonderful man, he has touched so many lives in a positive way!

Mr. Wade were one of my favorite teacher's at Edison elementary school. I will miss you! Thank for all you did for us kids.

I completed part of my student teaching with Mr. Wade shortly before he retired. He was a phenominal teacher, an excellent mentor and a wonderful man. I thought about him recently and fondly remembered him playing "God Bless the USA" every day. My condolences to the family - he will truly be missed!

Mr. Wade was one of my all-time favorite teachers, and will be greatly missed! From the 5th grade camping trip to playing Queen's 'News of the World' album in class, he always made learning fun. I remember him asking if anyone knew the preamble to the Constitution, and when I raised my hand, he had me recite it in class. God Bless you and your family. Heaven has gained a true angel!

My prayers are with you. I was so sad to hear about Charlie. I will miss his smiling face. May God grant you peace at this trying time.

Just 2 days ago my youngest son and I were talking about favorite teachers. Mr. Wade has always held that spot for me, he was my 6th gr teacher @ Edison, some 30+ yrs ago. The same qualities my son says of his favorite teacher are the same that Mr. Wade showed us. Entertaining, challenging, fatherly and commited to us. I have always appreciate that. I know hundreds more former students must feel the same way. I'm sorry for your loss.

Mr. Wade you were by far my favorite teacher! I remember like it was yesterday sitting next to the window playing chess in your classroom. Loved the fact that you kept me in line when I needed it. You were the best! RIP
