Chris M. Moroney

Chris Moroney, age 40, died suddenly at William Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe on December 18, 2011 after a short illness. He was born in Detroit on September 20, 1971, the son of Philip and Diane Moroney. Chris grew up in St. Clair Shores and attended Lakeview High School. Mr. Moroney worked as a cook at Linda's Place Restaurants in St. Clair Shores and Harrison Township. He enjoyed playing cards and socializing with his friends. He was a member and meeting leader for Narcotics Anonymous. Chris is survived by his daughter, Bailey; his mother, Diane; his two sisters, Shannon Smith (Steve) and Kim Rajnert (Steve); and his dear friend, Jamie Strickler. He was predeceased by his father Philip (Dee) and his brother, Arthur Roy. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. A scripture service will begin at 7:00 o'clock. Sr. Carol Juhasz, Pastoral Associate from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
