

Daniel Ray Szelong, age 70, passed away February 9, 2022, in the presence of loved ones. He was born May 5, 1951 in Hamtramck and grew up in Detroit. He attended St.Jude parochial school and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1969. Dan played both football and ran track. He obtained an Associates degree in Engineering at South Macomb College. He worked for Ford Motor Company and retired after 22 years.
Dan enjoyed attending his high school dances and going to auto races with his best friend. He was a talented artist and had made several oil paintings over the years. His first prize artwork was featured in the Miami Herald newspaper. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time at home and keeping up with current news via television, talk radio, and reading the daily newspaper.
He is survived by his wife (of fifty years) Carol, his daughter Dawn St.Clair (Donald St.Clair), his sister Audrey Bixler, his sister Sandra Wencel. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Raymond, Brian , Ethan and Ella St.Clair. He is preceded in death by his parents: Raymond Szelong and Jane Menes, and his sister Mary Ellen Szelong.

Service: At Funeral Home, Tuesday February 15, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Funeral procession to follow, arriving at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038.
