David was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with the people he loved. Whether hosting family gatherings, preparing for visits from his siblings, or stopping by daily to see his mother at her nursing home, family was always at the center of his life. A proud graduate of Michigan State University, David remained a loyal Spartan fan throughout his life, enthusiastically following the Michigan State sports team. He was an avid golfer who especially enjoyed playing at his home course in St. Clair Shores alongside his brother-in-law, John. When he wasn't on the golf course, David could often be found watching movies. A true film enthusiast, family members regularly relied on his reviews and recommendations when deciding what to watch. Family game nights were among David's favorite traditions, and he was famously the champion of Uno. He delighted in playing with his nieces and nephews, bringing both competitive spirit and plenty of laughter to every game. Known for his quick wit and sharp sense of humor, David had a gift for making people laugh. He was always late, often the last to arrive at a gathering and the last to leave, savoring every moment spent with family and friends. He took great pleasure in selecting Christmas gifts for his loved ones, faithfully giving socks to his nieces and nephews and golf shirts to his siblings. A sharp dresser with impeccable style, he was rarely seen without a Ralph Lauren polo shirt and owned one in every color. In quieter moments, David enjoyed completing the People Magazine crossword puzzle, a pastime that reflected his curiosity and love of a good challenge.
David is the beloved brother of Scott (BethAnn) Coté, Michelle (Paul) Michelsen, Jeff (Sheryl) Coté, Craig (Diane) Coté, and Jennifer (John) Szczepkowski. He was the treasured uncle of Kristyn, Sean, Lindsey, Mackenzie, Taylor, Nathan, Alexander, Nicholas, Jamara, and Sydney, and a proud great-uncle to three nieces and three nephews.
