He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Margaret Fennegein (née Lothamer) Gariepy. He is survived by his sister Valery Gariepy Rodi (Richard), brother Mark P. Gariepy (the late Ruth Gariepy), and children Geoffrey Gariepy (Angela Beauchamp Gariepy), Jennifer Gariepy (Maurice Greenia), and Elizabeth Gariepy (Erich Junker), along with his dear grandchildren Savannah Gariepy LeGault (Patrick LeGault), Joshua Gariepy (Sophia Gugel), and Kaylee Junker.
Visitation will be on Saturday, 25 April 2026 from 1:00 to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. There will be a service of remembrance during that time.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots.
