Dear Kathy It was very sad to learn about the loss of Dave. While I hadn't seen him in a few years, I tended to imagine him happily frozen in time, in healthier stages of his life. That sense of loss was slightly offset by the opportunity to see you and much of our former group gathered for his visitation. It's hard to feel completely mournful with the excitement of seeing those I saw almost daily during such formative years, along with seeing you and your daughter, and his brother. It would have been a far better occasion had Dave been with us. His authoritative voice was conspicuously absent. It was reassuring to know you and he enjoyed many comfortable years together, and that he persevered long enough to participate in his daughter's wedding. I continue to remember him as someone who's determination was a vital part of our department's success, and who's humor and cheer was part of the cohesion and friendship we still share. I hope we'll see each other again during happier occasions. My condolences, and best wishes for you and your family. Love, Howard

Dave was my best friend at Pershing. One of the smartest guys I ever met. We played on the Varsity golf team and then bowled on Tuesdays for 4 years. One of the best golfers and bowlers that I ever met, but most of all one of the greatest human beings to grace this Earth. With all his issues he never complained and always told me "It is what it is and I'll deal with it" One of my heroes in life. We can all learn a lesson in life from Dave. He never took himself too seriously. He is missed already.

Dear Kathy, Sara, and family. . .Dave was a childhood friend (Mason Elementary) and neighbor, while you lived nr. 17/Ryan. I will always remember him as a super intelligent, happy, and kind person. May he rest in God's peace. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with him and your entire family.
