

Dolores Katherine Heim, 98, of Olney, died at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Burgin Manor in Olney. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Monday, June 20, at First Presbyterian Church in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 20, at the church with Reverend Joel Adams officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, Mich. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Heim was born February 22, 1913, in Quincy, the daughter of Fred and Clara (Schumacher) Goessling. She married Arthur I. Heim Jr. on August 5, 1950. He survives. She was a music teacher in several states, then was music department head in the Norwalk, Conn., school system until her retirement. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Olney. Dolores attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich., where she received her BA in Music. She then attended Wayne State University in Detroit where she achieved her Master of Arts in Music. She received her 6th-year degree at University of Connecticut. Mrs. Heim is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arthur I. Heim, of Olney; brother, Theodore V. Heim and wife, Marianna, of Holly Springs, N.C.; two nephews, John F. Calder and wife, Joan, of Loveland, Ohio, and Bruce P. Calder and wife, Trudy, of Lathrup Village, Mich.; three nieces, Cynthia (Heim) Cohn, Nancy (Heim) Perilli, and Susan (Heim) Hill, of Holly Springs, N.C.; three great-nephews; six great-nieces; three great-great-nieces; and one great-great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Clara Goessling, and one sister, Evelyn F. (Goessling) Calder. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church in Olney.
