May 20, 1936 – July 16, 2025
Donald (Don) Drager, a devoted family man, skilled mechanic, and valued member of the Isabella County-community, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born on May 20, 1936, to William and Evelyn (Dolly) Drager, Donald lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and love for his family. He married his beloved wife, Ilene Danielson, in 1957, and together they shared over 40 years of marriage until her passing in 1999.
Donald worked as a mechanic and retired from Chrysler, where he was known for his dedication and expertise. Even in retirement, he continued to fix anything and everything, always ready to lend a hand.
He had a passion for traveling and explored much of the United States and Canada by motorhome, making frequent trips to Alaska—one of his favorite destinations. These trips were often enjoyed with his dear friend and travel companion we lovingly call "Wisconsin Bonnie". He also enjoyed hunting, photography, and especially treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Donald gave back to his community as a regular volunteer driver for the Council on Aging and the Meals on Wheels program, offering his time and kindness to those in need.
He is survived by his brother, Roger Drager; his children, Holly Manes (Ken), Bonnie Drager (Ron), Glen Drager(Theodora), Roy Drager (Marie), and Joy Iversen (Bill); 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ilene and his brothers Lawrence, Robert, William, and Gerald.
The family invites you to join them in remembering and celebrating Donald’s life during a visitation from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 22, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Donald's Funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 23 at noon at the funeral home followed by a procession to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
Donald’s legacy of love, service, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Commission on Aging.
