Doris Michaux, of Grosse Pointe Shores, passed away at her home at the age of 90 on October 29, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Sterling Heights, Michigan on July 14, 1931, the daughter of Edward and Hattie Boettcher.
She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Michaux whom she married in 1953. They raised their five children while helping her husband and in-laws, William and Mary, with chores on the family Michaux farm, one of the last working farms in all of the Pointes.
She was a loving mother to her children, Sharon (Peter) Lovric, Harold (Lynn) Michaux, Kenneth (Mary) Michaux, Kathy Michaux, and David (Deanna) Michaux. Doris was a dear grandmother to Megan, Erin, Evan, Emily, Rebecca, Jenna, Sarah and Jacob and special great-granddaughters Sophia and Lily. Doris was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1987.
Private services will be held at a future date.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
