Dorothy V. Siska

Siska, Dorothy. Age 91, passed away peacefully at Beechwood Manor Assisted Living on June 21, 2009. She was born in Detroit on March 15, 1918 to John and Augusta Stoll. Dorothy was a homemaker devoted to her family. She enjoyed gardening. She leaves behind her three daughters; Joanne Drouin (Joseph), Lynn Whittenburg (Paul), and Lori Kengel (Herbert). She was proud of her grandchildren Chris, Craig, John (Lisa) and Joe Drouin; Cathy (Bob) Bastien, Nancy (John) Salviati, Dawn (Cliff) VanDerLinden, John and Dean (Lani) Whittenburg; Cathy (Chris) Konon, Steve Goguen, Jenna and George (Erica) Kengel. She is survived by 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was predeceased by her son John Siska. Funeral services for Mrs. Siska will be held on Thursday June 25th at Noon at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Fr. Rich Bartosek will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM. Dorothy will be buried next to her husband Joseph in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. When I am gone, release me, let me go, I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess, how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for awhile that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all of my love around you soft and clear.
