My deepest condolences to Kathy, Mercedez and Vanessa. I've known Walt for 18 years. He serviced SDE with office and drafting supplies. He would come in periodically to bring me an up-dated Duall catalog and we would often chat about our families, holiday celebrations, the Buick he purchase from my husband and naturally our grand-babies. Walt was a great guy. Always positive and never had a harsh things to say about anyone. He will be greatly missed.

Kathy, I only know you through the grooming shop and Karen Gunn but through the years I've heard many stories about Walter and you. Always about how good he treated you and how much in love you both were. My deepest condolences for your loss. God bless you and your family.

Uncle Walt I can't begin to say how amazing of a husband father uncle grandpa you were. I remember the time I was 11 or 12 yrs old and I spent the night at your house and u let us watch a rated R movie. You told me whatever I do dont tell your mom and dad lol. I will deeply miss you as my uncle and the wonderful man that you were. I remember this past year when you came to our house for the Christmas party (during the 14 in snow storm we got ) my mom forgot to give u your birthday gift so u turned around in a snow storm and came and picked it up. There was nothing I loved more than coming to the Muellers house and getting made fun of by Walt in his heavy Germany accent that I loved so much. Walt and Kathy had a marriage I strive for, filled with so much love and so much laughter. They also raised girls who know the true meaning of friendship. He will be missed for his character, his love for his family and friends, his humor and so much more. Thank you for letting me drink all of your wine on Sunday afternoons and for being someone who could always make me laugh. Cheers, until we meet again....

Walt was an amazing guy. I truly valued and appreciated his integrity, his desire to help students, and support of all our educational endeavors. Walt represented DuAll with spirit; he always found a way to donate, contribute and support all of us and 5 or 6 departments at one time. We all loved him. I am truly sad to hear of this and my heart goes out to his family. We joked, laughed, and there was never a time when he didn't help to see me see the bright side of every situation. He was the best and when anyone said "DuALL"...it was Walt who made the deliveries and was the face of the support we all received for years. I know there are many colleges who feel the same way. I am saddened by this loss.

Dad, How do you wrap up what you meant to us in one little paragraph? It's impossible. Look at all these wonderful words and stories from people that knew you, and people that didn't. You truly touched so many peoples lives in more ways then you would ever know. When we were putting all your beautiful pictures together all mom kept saying was how in love you guys were. Anyone that knew you guys, knew that and loved being around you two even more because of it. You took such good care of your family and we are so grateful for the life you gave us. You were the best grampa and to see your face light up while just talking about your granddaughters, was a memory we will never forget! They will grow up knowing stories about your beloved cougar, the best castle fountain that you worked so hard on and how much you loved their grandma and their mommies. He really was the glue that held us together and he once said, "you know, things may get tough, but they will always get better." As much as we want you back so badly, we know you are up in heaven, making God eat Liver sausage and mustard sandwiches, while watching over us. Thank you for taking such good care of us. Walter, words cannot express my sadness of your untimely passing. My heart felt condolence go out to your wife Kathy and daughters Mercedez and Vanessa. I met your when I was a teenager many years ago. You were the Vietnam vet that lived next Jim Calderone that we looked up to for advice and guidance in our teenage misadventures. I will always remember losing money to you in those club euchre games with John and getting in trouble from the ex-wife because I had no money to lose, and tooling around in that 1970 convertible Cougar you had during the days that we were all unemployed. He fixed my ring so perfect when 5 jewelry stores said it couldn't be fixed. I cherish my ring even more now! I was very fortunate to call Mr Mueller my father in law , and roommate. He was a great guy , a wonderful husband to Mrs.Mueller and an outstanding father to Mercedez and Vanessa . He did anything for us and I appreciate that greatly . He will be forever in my heart , especially those days watching the tigers games or watching the lions lose miserably . I cannot wait to tell Capri everything about her Grandpa Mueller and I'll make sure to sneak Milo a few treats from you when Vanessa and Mrs Mueller aren't looking . I don't even know if we ever said this to each other because we were too manly but I love you and you will be missed

I will always remember Mr Mueller (Walt) as such a fun and happy- go- lucky kind of person to be around. All the memories that I had with him while growing up with Mercedez/Vanessa will be forever cherished. He always seemed to be a big kid at heart, always laughing/goofy around when I would go over to the home to hang out with the girls, or telling a joke of some kind. I very much remember having so much fun dancing with him at his daughters weddings over these past couple years, him lauging/and singing on the dance floor while dancing the night away, having such a blast and being the life of the party. He always seemed to also always have some cool gadget or toy laying around, like the talking skeleton that he owned that said "I see you" that he would attach to his motor home to scare campers when they would walk by, or the awesome annual Halloween display that he would have on his front yard when mercedez/vanessa were young. I also will remember how much of a handy man he was, keeping busy working in the yard or finding something to fix around the house whenever I would come over. I could go on forever, as such a great life cannot be described in just a few sentences. I`m so sorry for your loss Kathy, Mercedez and Vanessa. I`m so glad I got to meet Walt and spend so much time with him. It breaks my heart to know that he`s no longer with us. I wish I could`ve seen him one more time. But it makes me happy that he got to see his Family in Germany and spend some time with them. We will miss him so much, he was such a great person. I am blessed to have been Walts Sister-in-Law for 32 years and friends even before that. After reading all the tributes here and hearing so many Wally stories the past couple of days it breaks my heart to know that we have only memories now which we will cherish forever. Walt loved everyone always especially his Kathy, Mercedez & Vanessa. He was the proud father in law to Cheyne & Andrew and so proud to be a grandfather to his perfect granddaughters Lincoln & Capri. He is truly missed by his Milo. Not only was he my brother, he was my handyman, best friend even when I was a brat to him. I could write a book about all the things Walt did for me and my family and all of our friends. RIP my brother Walt, Wally, Walter. Even though you are with us in spirit and watching down on us, you can count on me to take care of Kathy and the family, just like you made sure you took care of me. I will love and miss you forever. I first met Walt when I was twelve. He moved into Mr. Bootens house next door to my parents. One sunny day Walt was doing some work on his car in the driveway. I got up the courage to go over and break the ice with this skinny, long red haired man and introduced myself. So I walked around the privet hedge (this was before Walt pruned them into his famous castle top hedges but thats another story) and helped him with a brake job on his 65 Mercury Comet. Walt was proud of that car because it didnt cost him a dime. After he purchased the car someone hit it in one of the rear quarter panels and the money he received to repair the damage covered the purchase price for the Comet. Using the trunk access he knocked most of the dent out himself. With his 4 track cassette player and his great selection of rock-n-roll he tooled around in his 65 Comet like AJ Foyt. Both impressing and annoying my parents as he zoomed in and out of his driveway in that car, never once crashing into the fence or his garage. Later we would find out that he drove an ambulance in the military. Walt refused to be beaten at anything he tried. I remember him working on his cougar, which at the time was pretty much a rust bucket. Replacing just about every part on the front end of the car, tie rods, inter/outer, ball joints, upper/lower, etc. with minimal tools to get the job done. It was knuckle busting work but he never gave up. If Walt had a vision he turned it into a reality. From his living room on Elkhart, the BSA that brought him home a trophy, the basement on Fleetwood, to the wonderful family he built with Kathy. When the sun dips and the heavens twinkle I know Walter will be looking down on his family and friends. We may have lost his physical presence but his spirit lives on in each one of us that he touched with his heart. Walt Mueller was a down to earth, witty, friendly and lovable man. Youll be missed! Walt if you run into your old friends Jack, John and Richard or as you would refer to then Larry, Moe and Curly, tell them hi from the family. Love Jim

Walt, you were the only person aside from your wife and her sisters and brothers that still called me Priscilla! I will forever remember your sense of humor but most important how anyone you met was only a stranger for a few seconds and a friend from then on. Walt was one of the finest human beings we've had the privilege to call a friend. He was funny, creative and always willing to lend a hand when needed. He was a euchre player extraordinaire, an inventive gardener, classic car restorer (who could forget the Cougar?) a great friend but most of all a devoted husband and father. We will greatly miss you, Tin Man.

It is impossible to express how very sorry we are to hear about Walt. Although we've been in and out of touch for a while, I still remember the time we lived with Walt like it was yesterday. His easy smile, good nature and his uncany ability to "go alone" in Euchre with only 3 trump with or without a bower! You will be sorely missed.

Very sorry for your loss, Walt will be missed by all those who came to know him - His easy going way and laugh was a way he had that made you comfortable and relaxed. I lived with Walt after I returned from Service, and he helped me get a job at the steel mill with him. We had also taken a couple of classes at MCCC togther. I am so blessed that I have known Mr. Mueller my whole life. One of my favorite memories is when my dad drove past his house with a super soaker filled ready to squirt him, however, Mr. Mueller was waiting with the hose! Mrs. Mueller, Mercedes and Vanessa, I am so very sorry for you loss.
