

Eleanor Virginia Cameron, of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan entered into rest on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the age of 80. She was born to Joseph and Florence Phillips on July 29, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. Immediately after graduating from St. Ambrose High School, she served in the United States Navy for four years, where she taught instrument flying in Pensacola, Florida. Upon her return to civilian life, she worked at the Chrysler Corporation for 37 years as an Executive Secretary where she also met her husband, Dugald. Eleanor was a traveller! Prior to her marriage in 1987, she, along with her dear friend Mary Cameron, travelled the world. What wonderful stories she would tell of their adventures! Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Dugald Cameron. Two children: David Cameron (Lynne) of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI and Audrey Cameron Brennan (Kevin) of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. Six grandchildren: Cameron Brennan (Meredith) of Gardner, KS; Thomas Cameron (Alycia) of Bloomington, IN; Lindsay Cameron of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; Kathryn Brennan of Seattle, WA; Rachel Brennan of Upland, IN and Jonathan Cameron of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. One great-grandson: Murray Cameron of Bloomington, IN. And her beloved brother: David Phillips (Elizabeth) of Canton Township, MI. Visitation 1:30 pm - 9:00 pm Monday with scripture service at 7:00 pm, September 29, 2014 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. The funeral mass is Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church , 21620 Greater Mack, Saint Clair Shores, Michigan 48080, instate 9:30 am until time of mass 10:00 am. A Private interment will follow the mass. Eleanor loved life and her family. She modeled tenacity, perseverance and an unwavering inner strength every day. A long time member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, her strong faith informed her life.
