Elena Slubowski

Elena Slubowski a resident of Warren for 32 years died peacefully at her home Friday July 27, 2012 at the age of 82. She was born in Detroit February 9th, 1930 the daughter of Vincent and Silvia(nee Battista) Lauro. She was raised in Detroit and a graduate of Dominican High School. She met the love of her life Arthur Slubowski in 1949 and on May 12th of 1951 they were married at St. Matthew Catholic Church. They have shared 61 years of marriage. Elena worked for the Milk Market Administration which was a division of the Federal Government. In 1954 she became a dedicated homemaker, working part time as a secretary for Slubowski Accounting and Tax Service for 21 years. She was a talented piano player and loved to participate in Square Dancing with Arthur. Elena and Arthur were active members of St. Malachy Catholic Church for 32 years, where Elena was an active volunteer. In addition to volunteering at church Elena served for many years with the March of Dimes. She is survived by her husband Arthur, sons Michael (Barbara), David (Eva) and James (Martha). Proud grandmother of Alicia, Lauren, Olivia, David, Owen, Madalyn and Faith. Dearest sister of Aldo Lauro, Vincent Jr. (Lillian) Lauro and Richard (Patricia) Lauro. Visitation Sunday July 29th, at A.H.Peters Funeral Home 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13 Mile Rd.) Warren, from 2pm until 9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Malachy Catholic Church 14085 E 14 Mile Rd. Sterling Heights. Instate 8:30 am until time of Mass 9am. Memorial Contributions to St. Malachy Church appreciated by family
