Elizabeth Mary Bradley, age 85, of Cheboygan, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Elizabeth was the youngest of eight children of Thomas and Mary Allen, proud immigrants from Ireland. She attended St. Gregory’s School in Detroit, where she cultivated a lifelong love of learning and the written word. She also studied both piano and voice.
Elizabeth met her husband, William (Bill) Bradley, at a bowling league—he saw her jumping up and down after she threw a strike, and from that moment, their story began. They shared many joyful years together and were married until Bill’s passing in 2005. Together, they raised two children, Tim and Heather, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and books. Bill had to make book shelves in every room to keep up with her love for reading. They both had a lifelong passion for music and the home was always filled with a variety of music.
Professionally, Elizabeth was a certified Medical Records Technician and worked for many years at Blaine Hospital (later Riverview), where she was respected for her dedication and her hard work ethic. After retiring, she found her dream retirement job on Mackinac Island, working in a bookstore for 15 years—a perfect fit for her love of reading.
Elizabeth was a gifted writer and a talented artist who found joy in drawing, painting, especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the natural beauty unfold on their property overlooking the Straits of Mackinac. She loved her friends and family and left everyone she interacted with love and kindness. Later in life she enjoyed quiet mornings with tea, lively game shows, and the comfort of a good book.
She was preceded in death by her husband William, her siblings Thomas Allen, Pat Allen, Maureen Fermoyle, Regina Allen, Anna Mae (Kenny) Isenogle, Margaret Allen, and Phoebe Allen, and in-laws Hugh Bradley, Hugh Syron, and Mary Lou Syron.
Elizabeth is survived by her children Timothy Bradley and Heather Muschong (Dan), and her adored grandsons: Jack Muschong, Luke Muschong, Seth Bradley, and Jonah Bradley. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Fr. Denis Bradley and Brian Bradley, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
