Going to the movies, listening to REM, Toad the Wet Sprockett & the B52's driving around Detroit, putt putt golf at Emerald Green and eating at Nikki's Pizza. I'll remember Erik for a million different reasons. My condolences to the entire family.

I had the pleasure of working with Erik. We were a team. I was away on vacation when the tragedy happened. We used to talk Detroit Tiger baseball all of the time. Erik was quite passionate about his Tigers. I miss this man very much, he made everyone around him happier.

Erik was my nephew. He was 10 years younger than me and spent alot of time at our house playing with my younger brother Bob as my mother (his grandmother) loved to watch the grandchildren. He had a wonderful laugh and chuckle. Erik loved to offer his opinion and ideas whether you wanted to hear it or not. He was a real story teller. He will be missed at the future family gatherings. He always helped everyone. He helped me move more than once. He was always helping someone with something. Erik was in the happiest phase of his life. He had found love with Corinna. They had purchased a wonderful house and were making it a home. He loved animals and treated them well. He treated his friends, family, and all people well too. He was a wonderful guy and he will be missed more than any words can express. My deepest condolences, hugs, kisses, and tears to Corinna, his wife; my sister Nancy, his mother; my brother-in-law Dennis, his father; Joy, his sister and my niece; and Gavin his only nephew. Erik and I have been friends for the past 25 years or so and its been a tough couple of days I will never forget his love for the city of Detroit and watching the super bowl will never be the same!! I am sure Erik will be missed by many people including myself.

I met Erik through Jason. The night Jason took me over to meet Erik we played monopoly. Neither one of them knew it was my favorite game. I beat both of them. I remember thinking this guy isn't going to like me because I won the game! Erik was also the only person that got away with calling me Deborah. We will miss him. He was a great friend to Jason and myself.

Erik will truly be missed. He was a sweet and loving person. He had a genuine love for life, everything around him and especially his wife, Corinna. Rest In Peace, Erik...

Erik was my nephew and arrived into my life when I was 13 years old. He was a real life baby doll. I babysat frequently for him and his sister, Joy. He was a wonderfully inquisitive, well-behaved, and adorable child. He had the most delightful giggle and laugh. Erik loved to offer his opinion and ideas to anyone who wanted to hear it, or perhaps not hear it. It often involved the use of his arms and hands for emphasis. How I will miss him making his point at all of our future family gatherings. Erik seemed to be in the happiest phase of his life. He had found the love of his life, Corinna. They had purchased a home and made it so lovely inside and out. He loved his animals and treated them so kind and gentle. He treated all people in his life with the same kindness, respect, and gentleness. He was such a wonderful addition to our world and he will be missed more than any words can express. There was a time when we were both out of work and would have lunch on Fridays. Talking and being around him helped me through a very difficult time in my life. He always kept me in positive spirits and reminded me that better days are ahead. I am going to miss him greatly

Corinna, so very sorry for your loss. I'll always remember Erik's kindness, sweet nature and that smile. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

Our deepest sympathies go out to everyone that was touched by Erik like we were. Erik was a kind, sweet and caring man that will truly be missed by all. The last and fondest memory that I have of Erik was at Gavin's birthday party. My daughter, Emily has a fondness for all animals and Erik has rats and hermit crabs. He took time away from the party to show her these animals and let her pet the rat. Just watching the two of them bonding over a rat brought tears to my eyes,even though I was cringing with a rat there. It was a touching moment that I will never forget and I'm sure my daughter won't either. We love you, Erik. Rest in Peace

Erik was my only uncle and he was my favorite too. I've had so many great memories and times with him ever since I was born 13 years ago. When I was a little kid, he was the funniest guy I knew. He always told me the corniest jokes but to a little kid they were the funniest. I remember when I was five I went camping with him and my grandpa at Hartwick Pines State Park and he took me swimming. He helped me catch frogs and I wanted to keep one, but he said we didn't have anything to keep it in. Uncle Erik always used to ask me what I would do if my name was "Gavin Acorn Squash". I always said that I would not want to be called that, but I would give anything for him to be able to call me that one more time. I loved my uncle and really miss him. I remember when he used to babysit me sometimes in the summer. Everytime he babysat me he took me to buy a chocolate egg with a little toy in it. I'm not a big fan of football but when it came to watching the Super Bowl with my uncle, I loved it. Now I can't watch the superbowl with him anymore. And I don't have anybody to tell me ghost stories or tell me all about Detroit anymore. I have so many stories with him that I don't have enough room to tell them all. Rest in peace Uncle Erik and I will never forget you.
