Ernest Romanelli

Ernest “Ernie” Romanelli, age 92, passed away on December 18, 2021. Beloved husband to Pauline for 65 years. Cherished father to Gary (Helene) Romanelli and David Romanelli. Adored grandfather to Michael (Catherine), Matthew, and Peter. Dear brother to Yolanda Santa Lucia. Predeceased by his parents and his two brothers Aldo and Quintino Romanelli.

Ernie was born on October 3, 1929 to Nicola and Guilia Romanelli, who immigrated from Italy. After some years in high school, Ernie enlisted in the United States Army in 1951. When he returned, he met his wonderful wife Pauline. They were married for 65 years and together they raised their two loving sons. Ernie worked at Stanley Door Systems as a salesman and as the Branch Manager, being a loyal employee for 25 years.

Ernie loved watching various sports, golfing, and doing many home improvements. He also was a devout church goer with his wife. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

A memorial Mass will be held for Ernie on Monday December 27th at 10 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48080. The mass can be viewed at (livestream.stjoan.church). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
