CAMPBELL, ESTHER P. June 21, 2014 Age 85 Beloved wife of the late William H. Campbell. Dear mother of Kerry Campbell Gnebba (Tony), Dale (Cindy), Janet Campbell, Brian (Astrid), James (Linda Casante) and Greg (Sandy). Loving grandmother of eleven and great-grandmother of two. Sister of Rita, Gerry, John, and Frank. Visitation Tuesday 4-9 pm with Scripture service 7pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. In state Wednesday 9:00 am until time of funeral Mass 10 am at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 23401 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores. Interment Cadillac Memorial Gardens East. Esther Campbell was born in Detroit on June 8, 1929 the daughter of Joseph and Michelne Jaremba. She married William Campbell and together they raised six children. They also have eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Esther volunteered at St. Lucy Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores for over twenty years. One her favorite pastimes was tending her flower gardens, especially nurturing her tulips. She grew so many tulips that at one time the neighborhood children referred to her home as "the tulip house". She enjoyed Polka music and dancing the polka at Polish weddings. She also was a good cook, especially using her Polish recipes. She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren, telling them stories that only a doting grandmother could. Esther was kind, giving and generous to charities.
