Eugenios Marcos Klimis

He was born October 17, 1946 in Chios Greece, the son of Marcos and Ellie Klimis and brother of Dimitri Klimis. He is survived by his loving wife Linda of 52 years, children Athena (Sean) Moffatt, Angela (Daniel) Pace. Adorning Papou to Danielle, Joey, Maria, Meranda (Stephen), Gabe and Lillian… and many more adoptive daughters, sons and grandchildren

Gene and Linda met on July 17, 1970 and fell instantly in love and were married on September 25 1971. Their journey together is the definition of True Love. Gene was a waiter on a cruise ship to Bermuda. Linda and her cousin were passengers. When Linda and Gene made their first eye contact, they both said that is who I’m going to marry. After a week together, they knew they were one another’s forever love. Gene made a very short visit to Michigan to meet Linda’s parents, shortly after Linda went to Greece to meet his family. Through translated phone calls and letters, a wedding was planned and they said their forever vows on September 25 1971.

In October of 1975, Gene became a US citizen, which was one of his most proudest moments.

He retired from Ford Motor Company and also drove a private limo for many years.

Family was most important, no matter how many jobs Gene was working he never missed a birthday, holiday or sporting event.

He loved to watch sports and go to games, sharing many of those memories with his girls.

He was a hardworking man with an energetic happy spirit. Through his trials and tribulations of life, nothing could bring him down or stop him for conquering the odds.

Linda was his rock, Athena and Angela his will, Danielle, Maria, Meranda his love, Gabe and Lillian his heart.

Gene will lie instate on Friday, July 28th from 9:30 am until the time of his funeral at 10:30 am at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter Rd, St Clair Shores.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Parkinson Foundation in his name.
