Frieda Anna Ziegler

Frieda Anna Ziegler, 91, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Born on September 15, 1934, in New York to Peter and Emma Tassan, Frieda was their beloved only child. The family later settled in Michigan, where she built her life, family, and community.

While working at Detroit Edison, Frieda met her future husband, Arthur, through his sister. The two married and began their life together, raising three children: Susan, Peter, and Linda. Frieda dedicated her early years to being a devoted stay-at-home mother, and later went on to work as a bank teller.

Frieda and Arthur shared a love of golf, traveling often to McGuire’s and Myrtle Beach to enjoy the game. The pair also enjoyed camping. They would often take their family on weekend camping trips, and a weeklong trip during the summer. As they grew older, Frieda and Arthur continued to camp with their close neighbors. After Arthur’s passing, Frieda continued golfing with friends keeping that joy alive. Her time in Siesta Key with her friends and the friendships they built there every January and February became a cherished tradition.

Frieda also enjoyed reading, doing crosswords, sudoku, and bowling. Though above all, Frieda treasured her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who made every gathering special. Her home was always open, with a seat at her table for anyone who stopped by. Frieda touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

Frieda was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband, Arthur Ziegler.

She is survived by her adored children, Susan Duchene, Peter (Karen) Ziegler, and Linda (Robert) Navarra; cherished grandchildren, Michael Duchene, Andy Duchene, Jennifer (Justin) Kosciolek, Kelly Ziegler (Tony Difatta), PJ Ziegler, Eric (Lauren) Navarra, and Evan Navarra; treasured great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Caleb, Brooklyn, Elliott, Roman, and Jolene.

A visitation for Frieda will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236. A visitation will take place Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods.
