Dearest mother of Michael (Annalyse), daughter of the late Patricia and Michael Kanakaris, cherished sister of Anita Kanakaris and Patricia (Tom) Barriger, dear aunt of Alex (Rachel) Barriger and Marc Barriger.
She will be remembered as a selfless person, always offering to help others. She loved gardening, baking and making Greek specialties. Gail was retired from the Michigan Department of Labor and spent the last several years working at the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society helping to find forever homes for animals at the shelter.
A memorial visitation for Gail will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
