I sure do miss you. I caught myself sending you a text message about the tennis match the other day. When I realized what I was doing I just shut the match off, didn't want to finish it, just not any fun if I can't share it w/ you. I pray for peace for Sharron and the kids.

Galen, I grew up with you in Japan and you always treated me like your younger brother. In recent years we were able to see each other regularly in Japan and remember our parents, their valuable work and how it impacted our love of people. I loved you Galen and will miss you. We were planning to see each other in Japan later this year to spend time together. I will have to wait till I see you in heaven.

I also want to send my sincere condolences to Stella, Craig and Sherry. And Galen's wife Sharon whom he loved so deeply and to his three children that he was so proud of and talked about all the time. Please heal quickly and remember all of the joy and encouragement that Galen gave so generously to all of us.

Sharon, I just heard today about the loss of your husband. It is hard for us to understand why such a young man was taken. I can only trust in God's divine wisdom and grace. I know He is holding you close. You are in my prayers.

Galen, you always had a kind word, an always encouraging word, and a smile that relayed the thought that I would be a better person simply being around you. I've not seen you since high school, but you were one of very few people I've often thought I'd have loved to know through the years. The gift you gave to all who knew you was a gift your brother has, and one your parents also had. What a great thing to know, that your children will also carry that wonderful gift inside of them... the one that makes everyone around them believe they can be better people just by living in the same joy of the Lord you always experienced. One day we'll meet beyond heavens gates Galen, and we'll get to participate with your smiles again, and be a part of the constant overwhelming joy I saw in you as a child all over again. Best of all, we'll get to experience with you the reason why. Until then, we'll look to that day. Our prayers will be with your dear wife and cherished family .

So sorry for your loss. And sorry that our own family medical issues kept us from attending the service. God's blessings upon you all. May the arms of Jesus hold you tightly.

I owed so much to Galen's warm friendship and devoted support while I served as Japanese Consul-General in Detroit. His affable smile and sharp sense of humor will always live in our memory. Sharon, our thoughts and prays go to you. Naoko and Kuninori Matsuda

Galen was an active member of the Men's Bible Study at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church. His spirit filled presence and insight will be sorely missed.

Cox Family, Please accept my condolences for your great loss. I had the privilege of working with Galen over the past year as he has supported the JCI team. Galen was a real pleasure to work with and was seen as part of the team by both the JCI and Mazda teams. Some of my favorite times with Galen were as he shared about his family and his faith. He was truly a great man both professionally and as an individual. He will be greatly missed. My prayer is that you will experience God's comfort and peace during this difficult time.

Cox Family I am sorry for your loss as well as my loss of a good friend. Galen was a great adviser to our JCI team and was truly a support to our successful product development. I will always remember how he shared his faith and how he approached life. Galen taught me how to communicate in meetings effectively and gave me encouragement and confidence, for which I am grateful. May God grant you His comfort and grace during this time.

To Galen's family: I was saddened to hear of Galen's sudden passing this past weekend. I was able to work with Galen with our customers on several occasions. He was always professional and had a smile on his face while in discussions with our Japanese customers. He will be missed here at JCI. My condolences to Galen's family.

Oddly, earlier today I was thinking about Galen - that I should do an internet search to see what he was up to....then later I received word from a mutual friend of his passing. God truly works in mysterious ways. I'm forever grateful for the opportunity Galen provided me as his employee. Working for him allowed me to keep my home fires burning, food on the table and the chance to visit places in the world I never dreamed of seeing. Thank you, Galen. Until we meet again...My prayers and condolences to his family and all who knew and loved him.
