Gary Robert Seeman

May 30, 1958 – June 23, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved brother and uncle, Gary Seeman, who died peacefully on June 23, 2025, at the age of 67. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on May 30, 1958.

That morning, Gary was found sitting on his deck with a cup of coffee, surrounded by the quiet stillness he always treasured. It was the kind of peaceful moment he cherished—a gentle start to what would be his final day.

Gary lived a quiet, humble life shaped by deep routine and a true love of solitude. He rose before 4 a.m. to ride his bike along the lake, finding solace in the stillness and the open road. His love for bicycles went beyond riding—he had an exceptional talent for building and repairing them, knowing every bolt, cable, and gear intimately. It wasn’t just a hobby; it was his craft, his joy, and his quiet pride.

He had a rare kind of character—he never took credit for favors and never spoke ill of anyone. He didn’t seek recognition, only peace and purpose in the life he built for himself.

Though he valued solitude in his later years, Gary carried fond memories of time spent on the water during his youth. He loved boating with family, and some of his happiest early moments were spent on the lake.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. Seeman and Doris Lallement-Seeman. He is survived by his sister, Karen Pattyn; nephew, Ryan Pattyn; niece, Rachel Pattyn; and his two great-nephews, Jaxx Pattyn and Remington Pattyn.

We find comfort in knowing his last moments were spent in the quiet stillness of a summer morning, just as he would have wanted.

Ride on, Gary. You are free.

A visitation for Gary will be held Friday, July 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. Following the visitation will be a memorial service from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at An H Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.
