

Geneva E. LaDuke, 90, of Coldwater, formerly of Eastpointe, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at her home. Geneva was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Charles and Mary Ellen. She married Charles LaDuke on October 11, 1940 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2012. Mrs. LaDuke was a devout catholic who loved to attend church and pray the rosary. She had been a member of St. Veronica's, St. Barnabas and St. Leonard's Catholic Church in the Macomb area. Geneva was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and had, at one time, been very proud of being a typist for Ft. Brady in Sault Ste. Marie. She was an excellent cook and baker, known by many for her banana cream pies and elaborate cakes that she loved to generously give away. Geneva was a skilled seamstress, she enjoyed dogs and playing cards. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren . Geneva is survived by her sons Gary and Ronald, her daughters Diane, Donna and Darlene, her brothers George and John, her sisters Agnes and Viola, 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Joseph, her brothers James and Thomas and her sister Mary Ellen. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 2-9:00 PM, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00PM, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM, with her lying in state at 9:30AM, at Holy Innocence Church, 16359 Frazho Road in Roseville. The mass will be concelebrated with Fr. Valentine Gattari and Fr. Tom Puzio officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp. Memorials may be directed to the Capuchin Monastery, Soup Kitchen, in Detroit.
