Genevieve Gonzales passed away on March 13, 2020 at the age of 91. She was born in Detroit on June 23, 1928; daughter of Anthony and Catherine (nee Cynar) Mazurek. She retired as an executive assistant from First Federal Savings and Loans.
Genevieve is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Joseph. She was proud of her son Matthew (Virginia) and daughter Tish (Ed) Bourke. She adored her grandchildren Paul, Julie, Sean, and Marie Bourke; James and Catherine Gonzales. She loved her great-grandchildren Milena, Adrian, and Mateo.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Mrs. Gonzales will lie instate on Tuesday from 10:30 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 am at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 3151 Farnsworth, Detroit. Interment at Mt. Elliott Cemetery in Detroit.
