George Agius

George Agius, age 87, passed away on October 11, 2019. Loving father of George (Nancy) and Tony (Gemma). Cherished grandfather of George (Jessica), Matthew, Kristoffer, and Vanessa. Adored great-grandfather to Hannah, Bella, and Penelope. Dearest brother to Joseph (Marianna), Agatha (Michael) Borg, Nina Bonello, and Francis (Allison). Predeceased by his sisters Carmen Grech and Lucy Micallef and his brother Romeo. George came to this country when he was just 16-years-old, working at a railroad company in British Columbia. George wore many hats - he was an avid outdoorsman, tinkerer and handyman. His kind, generous heart and warm spirit allowed him to thrive as a waiter at The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit hotel and the Renaissance Center for many years. George was a very successful rose gardener as well as a phenomenal cook. Visitation Sunday from 2-8 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. In State at 11:30 AM with services beginning at 12 noon at the funeral home.
