Gerald "Rip" Richard Whaley Jr.

Gerald “Rip” Richard Whaley Jr., 55, passed away at his home peacefully in Warren, Michigan, on November 15, 2020. Gerald was born to his loving parents Gerald and Angelina Whaley on April 9, 1965, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Gerald is preceded in death by his loving parents. He will be forever missed by his beloved wife Karen Whaley. Gerald is the loving father of Angela Whaley, Khriscinda Whaley, and Madison Whaley. He is the treasured grandfather of Mackenzie Hutchins, and Mason Hutchins. The cherished brother of Gary (Kathy) Hartunian, the late Gailann Hartunian, the late Olga (Terry) Weldon, and Gina (Mike) Oreilly. Gerald is the caring uncle of David (Sarah), Daniel (Tabitha), Maria, Richard, Josephine, Daniel (Victoria), Doris (Rob) and cousin of Roselinda (Bobby). He leaves behind his close aunt Mary Leen and many great nieces and nephews.

Gerald was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending the summers fishing at his favorite spots, Lake St. Clair and Budd Lake. He loved to go camping with his family at the Lake George Camp Ground. Even when he wasn’t up north he was still enjoying the outdoors. He would always make sure his house had the best looking yard. When he wasn’t tinkering with cars or sitting by a lake he liked to take a trip to Detroit or Mt. Pleasant to test his skills at the casino. His family would always look forward to playing card games with him. When he was at home his beloved cat Chloe was always by his side. He enjoyed the short time he got to spend working with the good people of Shorehaven Assisted Living.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2020, from 2:00 PM until time of service conducted by Father Tom Slowinski, at 7:00 PM, at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home 32000 Schoenherr Road, at Masonic.
