Gerard Francis Schwartz

Gerard Francis Schwartz, age 59, departed this life at 2:16pm on April 22, 2015 from heart complications. Gerard was born on Sept 1, 1955 in Detroit, MI. He spent the majority of his life residing in Highland Park, MI; he recently moved to Fraser, MI. Gerard attended St. Benedict grade school and then Bishop Foley and graduated from Shrine High School as Valedictorian. He retired from the City of Highland Park Water Department after 30 years of service. Gerard enjoyed antiquing, visiting and talking with his friends and especially his family. Gerard was a delight to speak with; after the exchange of a few words you discovered a genuine soul and felt an immediate fondness. Gerard was generous, intelligent, loving and funny. He treasured a good laugh; he brought and shared many. He had a deep faith in God and Catholicism. He devotedly spent Sundays with his Church family. Gerard is survived by his father Frank Schwartz, siblings, Mary (Drake) Maher, Conrad (Andrea) Schwartz, Joe (Sharon) Schwartz, Mike (Kathy) Schwartz, Suzanne (Mike) Schley, and Tracy Schwartz and by several beloved nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews. Gerard is predeceased by his mother, Anne (Sutherland) Schwartz, sisters Sally Lovie, Kathy Ciccarelli and Annie Schwartz. Gerard's family will receive friends on Friday, April 24th from 2:00pm-9:00pm with rosary 7:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. Instate Saturday, April 25th at 11:30am until time of Mass 12Noon at St Pio of Pietrelcina Catholic Church-Masonic Campus, 31740 Cyril Ave., Fraser. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
