We didn't consider Gil our next door neighbor. He was our friend. In a face-paced world where people seem to chase after every "next" thing, Gil was a reminder of the blessings bestowed from slowing down and having a real conversation. When I would try to return a borrowed tool or ladder, he always said, "Just hang onto it. I know where it's at." A helping hand, advice, a hearty laugh, and good old-fashioned banter, his character was genuine. He also let me talk about church (once it was clear I would not press him to go). A believer at heart, he exemplified the brotherhood and love for his fellow man that God found favor with. I will miss that ancient Ford with a billion miles on it firing up each morning next to our bedroom window. I'll miss seeing him tinkering in the driveway and even walking to the curb with a bag of garbage. I'll miss waving as we drove away so many times a day running kids everywhere. Those short moments were implicit reminders to slow life down. My home is not the same today. We miss our friend and look forward to a holy reunion. Gil, your family is prayed for, and we will do whatever God might have for us in being there for Lori and Kyle. With much love, God bless all of Gil's family and friends.

To my brother Bert ( Gil) I will miss you so much and you were a great brother to all of us especially me your only little sis. I look back at all the years of our life and have so many fond memories of growing up with you. You always were there for me when ever I needed you. I will miss our talks and your big bear hugs just like dad had given me. I hear your keys as you walk and it makes me smile. I know now you are in heaven fishing with dad, bowling and laughing with mom and all our other relatives that have left us, don't forget to put on your roller skates again and skate just like you did at Motor City Rink. Thank you for being a great brother, I love you Sis.

I was saddened to see that Gilbert has passed. Lorraine, and Kyle, although we have never met, I know in my heart you experienced an extended marriage, and a close family. I remember Gilbert as a kindhearted person, yet a PRANKSTER none the less!
I knew his parents, and all of you siblings...Darrell, Sherry, and Phil. We did cause some trouble during our teenage years...Motor City, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and 9 Mile and Van Dyke with the crew of friends we hung with during those years.

my loving brother, you will be truly missed and i am so sad to loose you so soon in our lives, i have so many memories of us growing up together from our days of playing little league baseball wearing those baggie uniforms to our teenage years raising hell, boy did we ever do some crazy shit. you will always be in my heart and thoughts every day, i thank you so much for everything you did for our parents and commend you for that. you were always there for every one when they needed you at the drop of a hat and never questions it ever. you were one great brother and i loved you so much,you are with mom and dad now. i will miss your smile and your laughter,
