Gin Kwong Wong passed away at home on July 7, 2016 at the age of 89. He was born on March 24, 1927 in China; son of Meifue and Luk Mui Wong. Mr. Wong immigrated to the United States in 1968 where he owned the Fair Star Inn in Detroit. Gin was very handy and could fix just about anything. He loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years Mie. He was proud of his children Warren Wong, Hing (Diane) Wong, and Jane (Ming) Yu. He adored his grandchildren Jason, Amanda, Richard, Jessica, Justin, and Kevin. He leaves behind his sister Lan Yee. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 8:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Celebration of Mr. Wong's Life will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. He will be interred at Clinton Grove Cemetery.
