Grace Therese Manardo

Grace Manardo was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 14, 1929 the daughter of Joseph and Gladys (nee Parisi) Tocco. She married Frederick Manardo in 1950 in Detroit at St. Charles Church. Together they raised four children, Lynn, David, Joel and Mark until Frederick's untimely death in 1983. Joel described his mother as a great mom, a good cook and a loving grandmother. Grace moved to Alabama four years ago to be near her daughter Lynn. All of her life Grace was very religious and a devout Catholic. Grace is survived by her dear children, daughter Lynn Patterson (Fred), her sons David (Lois), Joel (Karen), and Mark. She was the loving grandmother of Freddy, Laura, Matthew, Colleen, Andrew and Michael. Her brothers Sam, Michael and Vince Tocco also survive her. Grace was predeceased by her beloved husband Frederick, brothers Joseph Tocco and Peter Tocco as well as her parents Joseph and Gladys Tocco. Visitation will take place on Monday February 13, from 4 until 8 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Grace will lie in state from 11:30 am until time of Mass 12:00 noon at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to the Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI 48207.
