Gregory T Ignasiak

Gregory Thomas Ignasiak, 65, of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan passed away peacefully on August 19, 2022. He was a loving son to Eugene and Dorothy Ignasiak, brother to Susan Ignasiak, Michael (Lisa) Ignasiak, Robert (Francine) Ignasiak, and uncle to James Ignasiak.

Gregory attended special education classes in the Grosse Pointe Public School System and was subsequently employed at a number of area workshops.

Gregory was a gentle soul who greatly enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He could instantly recall details of events that occurred many years earlier. He had a lifelong love of music and was gifted with the ability to play the piano and the violin by ear. He loved to sing and had perfect pitch.

Gregory’s other passions included cars, bowling, playing softball and watching sporting events, especially the Detroit Tigers.

For over 60 years, Gregory participated in St. Joan of Arc’s catechism program. He also attended weekly mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea.

Gregory was a Boy Scout in Troop #330 for more than 50 years, earning many merit badges. His scouting experiences included numerous campouts and trips to National Parks.

Gregory touched many lives in many ways. His love for family and friends was unconditional. All who knew him and all who loved him will never forget him.

He was proceeded in death by his father.

Visitation for Gregory will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

An instate will occur Friday, August 26, 2022 from 9:30 AM until the time of mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 467 Fairford, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.

Gregory will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48038.
