Haifa Issa Karadsheh much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully March 10, 2018, at the age of 85. Haifa was preceded in death by her husband, Farah Ibrahim Karadsheh of 33 years (1989), their son, Ibrahim Farah Karadsheh (1985), her beloved parents, Issa and Frieda Khoury Karadsheh and much missed siblings; Basil Karadsheh, Margarette Abuelenin, Alice Karadsheh, Shafiqa Karadsheh, Shafeeq Karadsheh, George Karadsheh and Issa Karadsheh. Haifa is survived by her children; Diane Karadsheh Doxey, George Farah Karadsheh and Rose Marie (Lewis) Karadsheh Preddy, and grandchildren; Farah Alexandra Doxey, Cameron Melton Doxey, Daniel Abraham Doxey, Abraham Joesph Preddy, Sara Virginia Preddy and Stephen Salem Preddy. She is also survived by her sister, Leila Abudayeh of Salt, Jordan. Born in Madaba, Jordan, Haifa and Farah married in 1956 and embarked on their life adventure with a one-way ticket on a cruise aboard the Queen Frederica. On April 8, 1956 they departed from Piraeus, Greece to Ellis Island, New York where their American Dream began. Farah worked at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan for over 30 years. Haifa could have been busy enough raising four children at home in a new country, but that was not enough for Haifa. She was constantly learning, and when not learning, she was teaching. Her talents were many including graduating from cosmetology school to later becoming an accomplished hair stylist at salons such as Crowley's and Lord & Taylor in Sterling Heights and Birmingham, Michigan. She was an instructor at Bela's School of Cosmetology and later owned her own salon. Often during a cut and color appointment, she was well known and loved for giving free "therapy" to her customers. She also became a wedding cake decorator and brought joy to many brides with her ornate multi-tiered cakes. She made beautiful pottery and ceramics, weaved macram, and knit blankets all of which she gave to her children, grandchildren and siblings. Her creativity seemed to have no bounds. She was also an active member of the St. George Orthodox Church Ladies Society, in Troy, Michigan and a Republican Delegate for the State of Michigan. She loved traveling and for her 70th birthday she went into high gear with trips to Las Vegas, Japan, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Israel, and the Caribbean Islands. She went with family, church organizations, and friends, but her real joy was visiting and caring for her six grandchildren in Indiana and Florida. She was a friend to many and always loved to entertain in the home. Her cooking and baking skills were unmatched. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 17, 2018 11:00 am at St . George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2160 E. Maple Road, Troy, Michigan with Father Joseph Antypas officiating. Following the Mass, Haifa will be laid to rest next to her son and husband at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Trisagion service at 5:00 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, Michigan.
