Harriet A. Reed

Harriet Audrey Reed Grosse Pointe Shores resident Harriet Audrey Reed, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016. She was born, April 17, 1926, in Detroit to Frederick and Hattie Distler, and earned a bachelor's degree from Wayne State University. Mrs. Reed was a homemaker who enjoyed opera, tennis, travel and was an avid bridge player. She was a member of Zeta Chi sorority, Women's City Club, Lochmoor Club, and the Sociable Scoundrels. She also was a former member of the Detroit Boat Club. Mrs. Reed is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul; daughters, Julie and Karen; son, Bradford (Susan); grandchildren, Rachel, Jonathan, Colton and Ryan and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Norma Schwinke. A funeral service was held April 23 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, Grosse Pointe Woods, with interment in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
