To our loving husband, Pa, Opa and Uropa Heinz, who was born in 1931 on a small farm in Assmissen, Germany. He was raised there by his single Mom with help from his family. As a young man, after finishing his apprenticeship as a Tool & Die Maker, he immigrated in 1953 to the United States to live and work with his Uncle and Great Uncle in South Dakota on the Hans Meier Farm. In 1954, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during which time he was stationed in Salzburg, Austria where he met his future wife, Margarete. In 1956, after Margarete immigrated to the U.S. also, both got married to each other in Woodlyn, PA. Together they moved to Detroit, MI and had one son, Gerhard, and one daughter, Heide. In 1959, the whole family moved to Shelby, OH and lived there for 5 years where they had two more daughters, Connie and Christel. In 1965, the Reker family decided to return to their roots and return back to live in Germany. Heinz was known for his excellent workmanship in the Tool & Die Industry amongst his peers and worked himself up to become an accomplished small business owner. All along he provided for his family diligently, while all four children received a good education in Germany. In 1978, Heinz and Margarete returned back to the U.S. together while their grown children went their own ways in their professions as a Tool & Die Maker, Nurse, Teacher, and Physical Therapist. After his retirement, Heinz and Margarete followed their passion of RV-traveling all across North America and Mexico, while building their dream house in Crossville, TN. At age 69, during open heart surgery, GOD showed him how his life without JESUS would end right then and there and where he would spend eternity. The first day in recovery, he gave his life the CHRIST, accepted him as his LORD and SAVIOUR and decided to be baptized within one week. Never the less, these last two years he struggled with cancer and finally overcame it to go home into eternal GLORY with his SAVIOUR and HEALER JESUS CHRIST. He is leaving behind his loving wife and best friend Margarete, his son Gerhard, his three daughters Heide, Connie (Florian), and Christel (Dale), his eight grandchildren Sara (Andy), Leah, Becca, Jonathan, Noah, Esra, Benjamin, and Simon and his two great-grandchildren Ethan and Elija. Even though our family is mourning his passing and we all miss him badly, we are looking forward to rejoining him again in Heaven. Now we want to thank all of you for coming and celebrating with us our husband's, father's, grand-father's, and great grand-father's heavenly homecoming.
