

Henry Tazzia, Age 81 of Rochester Hills, CEO of Controlled Power Company, Troy MI passed away on April 27, 2012. , Henry was born on January 17, 1931 in Detroit Michigan. Henry was the son of Mary and Kalil Tazzia who emigrated from Syria in 1911. Henry, the last surviving member of his family, was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters: Annie Abide, Sylvia Fisk, Esse Tazzia, Rose Garafola, Victoria Nowak, George Tazzia, Edward Tazzia and Najib "Jim" Tazzia and their surviving spouses Angie and Cathy Tazzia. Henry was extremely proud of his family heritage and its humble beginnings, and he made it a point in life to instill these values and the value of an education into his children and grandchildren; for this we are grateful. Henry proudly served our great country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged on August 1st 1961. He was happily married to Tamara Tazzia (VanWormer) on December 6th, 1986. Henry lived out the latter portion of his life in comfort and joy with his best friend and wife Tamara. They traveled the globe together and enjoyed each others company, laughed, cried and played together and lived life to its fullest. He will truly be missed. Henry was the author of "Rectifier Theory and Application" and CEO of Controlled Power Company which manufactures commercial, industrial, and medical electrical power systems. Controlled Power Company was founded in 1968 and is based in Troy, Michigan. Henry's sons Chris Tazzia - President, Tim Tazzia - Sales Manager, Adam Tazzia - Director of Customer Support and Nelson Tazzia - IT Manager will continue to operate the company as they have for the past seven years. Henry was a pure, honest and fair business man. Aside from his passion for business at Controlled Power Company, Henry also had many other successful business ventures such as TKT and Kalil Enterprises. He also enjoyed world history, humor, walking in the park, sports and numerous other interests and activities. Henry is survived by his loving wife Tamara and his five boys (from his previous marriage to Norma Tazzia), Timothy and his two sons, TJ and Michael. Christian and his wife Wendi and their daughters Tanya, Stacy and her husband Will and Rebecca as well as Henrys great grandchildren Natalie, Brianna, and Alana. Adam and his wife Catherine. Nelson and his wife Nancy and their four sons Austin and his wife Christina, Steven, Evan, and Jonathan and finally Wesley and his son Conner. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236 on April 30, 2012 from 2:00pm 8:00pm. Funeral Tuesday 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will be on Thursday at 11:00 am at Woodmere Cemetery in Standish, MI.
