Jack M. Hansen

Hansen, Jack, age 88, beloved husband of Virginia, dear father of Victoria (Mark) Bycraft, Pamela (Robert) Maige, Robert (Shellie), Barbara Russell and Jack. Proud grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of 10. Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. After serving our country, Jack was with the Detroit Fire Department for 35 years before he retired in 1989 as the Chief of the 6th Battalion. His love for the fire department can be seen in his scrapbooks he kept from 1962-1989. The scrapbooks include all of the newspaper articles and pictures regarding the fire department over 27 years. Jack was with the Masonic Temple since 1981, a Moslem Shriner since 1982, and with the Royal Order of Jesters since 1994. He was the Commander at Legion of Honor where he also held other positions, Director of Reception on the Potentates staff, ambassador, and a unit Veteran. Visitation Monday and Tuesday 3-9 pm with a Shriner's Service Tuesday at 6:30 PM and a Masonic service at 7 PM also on Tuesday at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave at Vernier Rd, Grosse Pointe Woods, 48236. Burial at White Chapel with Services at Cemetery, 11:00 am Wednesday. Donations to Shrine General Fund appreciated.
