James Hillis Broad

James H. Broad died unexpectedly in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico on June 27th at the age of 53. James was born on August 4th, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan to John Broad and Elizabeth Arndt and spent his childhood in Birmingham, Michigan. He spent five years in Grosse Pointe Shores before moving to Mexico with his family thirteen years ago. James was a man with a great big heart. He could light up a room with his presence and excitement about life, and he was loved for his wry sense of humor. In recent years, his young grandchildren brought joy to his life. He was a beloved son, father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his parents, Elizabeth Arndt of Venice, Florida and John and Jeanne Broad of Grosse Pointe Farms; children Lauren, Jordan, and Daniela; grandchildren Aaron, Xander and Christian; and sisters Cyndi Webb, Jodi Holt, and Kate Knights. He will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at noon at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236.
