Jim D'Alessandro, 89, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2012 in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He was born in Fairmount, Illinois on November 23, 1922 to Amalia and Luigi D'Alessandro. Mr. D'Alessandro married the love of his life, Patronella "Pat" on July 4th, 1950. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage together. Jim was the dearest father of Lisa (Eric) Leszczynski. He is the loving grandfather of Ian, Evan, and Sophia. He is also survived by his brother, Robert "Bob". Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 - 9:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Rosary at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Jim will lie in state on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 467 Fairford Road, Grosse Pointe Woods.
