James G. Schmelzle "Jim" was born December 4, 1959 in Detroit and entered into rest October 23, 2015 in St. Clair Shores at the age 55. James was the dearest son of Jack and the late Rose Marie and dearest brother of Linda. He was the Father of Jimmy (Jennifer) and Josh, grandfather of Colt and Grant and beloved cousin and friend to many. Jim's great passion was playing golf. At the age of 16, Jim shot a hole-in-one. Jim played golf on many courses but mainly at St. Clair Shores Country Club where he worked in maintenance. Visitation Monday 2:00 pm 9:00 pm with rosary at 7:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse pointe Woods 48236. Funeral at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores, instate Tuesday 9:30 am until time of Mass 10:00 am. Monsignor Michael Bugarin will be officiating.
