He is survived by his beloved daughter, Linda Schmelzle; loving grandsons, Jimmy Schmelzle (Jenn) and Joshua Schmelzle (Holly); and great grandsons, Colt, Grant, and James. He will also be missed by his cousins, Joan Weigand, Judith “Cookie” Hawkins, and Nancy Reid.
Jack is preceded in death by his caring wife Rose Marie and son Jim.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 from 3PM-8PM with a military honors ceremony at 4PM and a rosary service at 7PM in A.H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave. Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236). A mass for Jack will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 10Am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (22412 Overlake Street, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Bonaventure Monastery, 1820 Mount Elliott Street Detroit, MI 48207.
