Janet Lee Hagen

Janet Hagen passed away on July 26, 2019 at the age of 85. She was born on March 5, 1934; daughter of Clarence and Jesse (nee Fothergill) Fricke. She was predeceased by her husband Clare in 1996. She was proud of her daughter Diane English (Frank) and sons Doug (Ellen) and Mike (Laurie) Hagen. She adored her grandchildren Zeke English, Cody Werner, Rylie, Brody, and Morgan Hagen. She leaves behind her sister Nancy Scheetz. Janet was an Advanced Master Gardener from MSU Extension and was an active member of the Grosse Pointe Garden Center. She loved to read, travel, and work on many types of crafts. Her kindness was evident as she volunteered with Sandcastles. She was also a member of The Questers. She will be remembered for her laugh, sense of style, and fun-loving nature. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28th, from 2:00 pm until the time of her service at 4:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd. Grosse Pointe Woods. She will be interred on Monday, July 29th, at 2:00 pm at Valley Cemetery in Ubly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet's memory may be made to the Grosse Pointe Garden Center, 32 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.
