Janet R. Williams passed away at St. John Hospital in Detroit on March 15, 2012. She was born on May 14, 1937 in Detroit; daughter of Wallace and Ruth (nee Weinkauf) Zielke. Janet volunteered for ten years at St. John Hospital and Medical Center before she began a career in the Emergency Center Department in medical records in 1988. She worked faithfully for 22 years and retired in February 2010. Janet faithfully taught Sunday School to toddlers at Gratiot Avenue Baptist Church in Detroit and Cornerstone Baptist Church in Roseville for many years. She was affectionately known as Teacher Janet. She sang in the choir and participated in many cantatas. Janet loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her summers were filled with trips to the family cabin up north which her parents built. She leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years Charles "Bill". She was proud of her daughters Karen Kopchick (Ken), Katherine Arndt (Norman), Kimberly Mitchell (Dan), and Kaylyn Petzel (John). She adored her grandchildren Kris and Kory Kopchick, Kimberly Dry (Brendan), Carl and James Arndt, and Jonah and Malachi Mitchell. She is survived by her twin sister Joan Mickel of Boston. Aunt of Kevin and Kenny Mickel, Mark and John Williams, Debbie Fisher, and Dennis Zielke. Sister in-law of Mary Lou Lanning (Harold) and May Zielke. Janet was predeceased by her brother Wallace Zielke Jr., sister Shirley Zielke; parents Wallace and Ruth Zielke; and step-father Carl Gerds. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 - 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Mrs. Williams will lie instate on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral at 11:00 am at Cornerstone Baptist Church 17017 12 Mile Rd., Roseville.
