

Jean T. Mann passed away peacefully on March 26, 2011 at Henry Ford Continuing Care in Roseville. She was born on October 11, 1925 in Canton, China. Jean and her husband Tom immigratedto the United States in 1948. Early in their marriage they owned and operated a Chinese hand laundry company in Detroit. She was a hard working woman that worked full time until she was 79 years old. She was a cook for Chinese Restaurants on the east side suburbs of Detroit for years. Mrs. Mann enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She was a stern mother who held her children to high standards. She had a wry sense of humor and will be missed by all that knew her. She leaves behind her loving children Betty Yee (Donald Hough), Brenda Fong (the late Glen), and Eugene Mann (Jerri). She was proud of her grandchildren Stephanie, Vanessa, Christopher, Nicholas (Rocio), Brent, Jonathan, and Angela. She adored her great grandchildren Timothy and Sienna. She was predeceased by her husband Tom in 1986. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of her Funeral Service at Noon at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. She will be interred next to her beloved Tom at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
