Jeff(aka Ox or Sleuth)was a good friend of mind at MSU. He was a fixture of life on 2 West Wilson Hall during the years 1983-85. Everyone who lived on the floor at this time has fond memories of Jeff that will be cherished forever. My vivid memories are of Jeff in his martial arts wardrobe, chucking ninja stars at my door across the hall. He was also inspirational when it came to cramming for exams, staying up all night while taking Nodoze. After dropping me off for a final, Jeff proceeded to fall asleep in his car, thus, missing his final. Jeff was a great audience; his laughter was contagious. But he was also kind, and as so eloquently described by Sue Badway, he was very giving. My sincere condolences to the family. He was far to young to leave. But with a heavy heart I know he is teaching his ancestors how to use nunchucks.

I went to MSU with Jeff (we called him Sleuth). He was one of my favorite friends of all time. It was always a fun and memorable time with Sleuth. He loved to dance and move his shoulders. I can still picture him vividly; dancing, smiling laughing and enjoying life to the fullest. Jeff was also a very generous person. We were all broke in college, but Jeff was the savvy one, who had investments and somehow always treated us when we went out. He brought so much joy to my life and our group of friends. We loved him dearly. Jeff and I had many special times together. We both loved to sing, so I would go to his apartment and we would take turns singing our favorite songs. No holding back. I never felt judged in his presence. I could just be myself. Our families lived near each other, so he often drove me home during breaks. I met his mother once and I could tell that he loved and adored her. I feel a great loss hearing this news. I give my heartfelt condolences to the family. Jeff will be in my prayers. Key family, I was a friend of Jeff/Sleuth in college and am very sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of our times together and great deal of regret that we didn't manage to stay in touch. Chris Hutchinson (Hutch)

Jeff was my suite-mate and freind at Michigan State University. We had many, many good times and adventures over many years. We road-tripped together to Chicago and New York. I am very surprised and sad to learn about his passing. He was too young. Jeff was a good and loyal friend, and he will be missed.
