Jimmie F. Bloink

Bloink, Jimmie F. Jr. passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2008. Mr. Bloink was born on November 25, 1937 to Jimmie and Emma Bloink in Detroit. Mr. Bloink started working at his family's furniture store in the early 50's (Jimmie Bloink Furniture). The skills that he learned at the furniture shop enabled him to become a successful businessman. He owned numerous real estate investment properties along with many east side motels during his career. Mr. Bloink served in the Air Force reserves from 1957 to 1963. He served as a council member for Grosse Pointe Shores for four years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. On May 20, 1961, Mr. Bloink married Anita Wells. They were blessed with the birth of their daughter Melissa (Ted Dickson), and son Jimmie Bloink III. He was a proud grandfather of Katie, Emily, and Nathan Dickson; and Stephanie Bloink. He is survived by his sister Gayle Lehman, and brother Robert J. Bloink. He had an infectious personality and will be missed by all that new him. Visitation Sunday 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00-9:00 PM. He will lie instate Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church.
